We have an opening for an experienced mechanical engineer.

GlucoSet is developing a fiber optic glucose sensor to reduce complications and lower costs in critically ill patients. Located in Trondheim, Norway we are backed by experienced venture capital investors.

You will define, develop, validate, manufacture mechanical systems for our medical device, and work closely with our cross-functional product engineering teams of photonics, mechanical, electrical and software engineers.

What we offer:

  • Purpose: Work on problems worth solving, and build products that will save lives.

  • Independence: We expect you to think for yourself and to voice your thoughts and ideas.

  • Responsibility: We look for self-starters with a can-do-attitude who take responsibility, be it individually and in a team.

  • Challenges: We promise that the challenges will grow at least as fast as you do.

What we are looking for: Do you have the expertise and experience needed to take our technology to the next level?

  • Expertise:

    • Understanding of requirement models, from user level to component level, towards fabrication methods. System-level thinking for optimization of complex designs to create desired product performance for the lowest manufacturing and processing costs possible.

    • Strong background in mechanical product development, ideally medical catheter-based devices, compliant with ISO 13485 and FDA 21 CFR 820.

    • DfSS, Minitab, FEA software, calculations and 3D & 2D CAD (e.g. SolidWorks and ProEngineer).

    • Documented track record of successful development of commercial products, from concept to mass production, with demonstrated ability to develop parts from various materials and made by different manufacturing processes, like molding and adhesive dispensing, at micromillimeter scale.

    • Transfer designs and processes specification to manufacturing, for internal production, turnkey manufacturers and component suppliers.

    • Verify system performance on prototypes, first out of tool and at release of mass production.

    • Engagement with contract development and manufacturing vendors on product specifications, tool design, assembly process and equipment development, to meet requirements, incl. schedule, budgets and quality.

    • Developing tools and fixtures used in manual and semi-automatic precision assembly of delicate components.
